Tide gauge data access

For any use of the data

Please quote the sources and the authors, and send us the results of the works in which the data are used:

  • for the ROSAME network data: Service d’Observation ROSAME, LEGOS/OMP, 14 Avenue Edouard Belin, 31400 Toulouse, France;
  • for the Sao Tomé tide gauge data: contact Jérôme Llido, in charge of PIRATA.

After processing, the real time data of ROSAME network and Sao Tomé coastal tide gauges are regularly updated and on public access on the LEGOS anonymous FTP site (internally on /data/soa/niveau_mer).

The visualization of the real time monitoring of the measurements is available on the LEGOS web site. Quality indicators (temporal distribution, monitoring of the references), updated each month, are also available on the LEGOS web site and enable us to oversee, on the long run, the quality evolution of the received real time and delayed time data

At the national level

The ROSAME network sea level data are recovered by the SISMER (Scientific information systems for the sea), and by the SONEL (Coastal sea level observation system). The Sao Tomé tide gauge data are recovered by PIRATA. The data are available from these various sites.

At the international level

The ROSAME network and Sao Tomé sea level data are daily recovered by the ODINAfrica (Ocean Data and Information Network for Africa) in the frame of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO. The Sao Tomé tide gauge data are recovered by the National Institute of Meteorology of Sao Tomé.

The ROSAME network and Sao Tomé sea level data are sent on a monthly basis for archiving and public access to the UHSLC (University of Hawaii Sea Level Center) in the frame of the Global Sea Level Observing System GLOSS. They are also available on public access from the BODC (British Oceanographic Data Centre).
